Hey, guys! My name is Isaiah Thomas, I'm just a part-time artist and I'm back here painting again.
Recently, I've been going through a lot of anxiety, and I really wanted to put that into a painting. I chose yellow as my base color because even though it means anxiety, it also means cheerful, joyful and being motivated.
I started by writing the word “confidence” over and over and over again. I chose black for the text because it's a very dominant color; it's a very statement color. It's elegant and it's also the color for confidence. I just wanted to get myself writing the word over and over again until it was nailed into my brain. I wanted it to be something I see, and can't miss. And at the end, I just wrote, “confident.”
Finally, I placed a white rectangle in the center of this painting, followed by a silhouette of a person with strings coming from their brain. As if it's tying them down.
I'm really happy with the way that it turned out. It's open to so much interpretation. I also like how the word “confidence” starts very shaky, very not put together, and not aware of itself. And by the end, you see that “confidence” is just becoming more confident. Thank you so much for checking out my latest painting; I really appreciate it.
You can find more of my work on my Facebook or my website. And soon, I'll be coming to Instagram as well.
See y’all next time.
