Hey, it's Amanda again. Here are five things to do in Charlottesville, Virginia:

  1. Start off with a bagel sandwich from Bodo's Bagels. This legendary bagel shop has been open since the 1980s.
  2. Then head to the historic Downtown Mall. This is the epicenter of Charlottesville with blocks of shops, restaurants and local art.
  3. Don't leave Charlottesville without a tour of Monticello, home of founding father Thomas Jefferson.
  4. Just down the road is Carter Mountain Orchard, a family-owned property with year-round events, a cider taproom and beautiful views of Charlottesville.
  5. With over 40 wineries in the area, a glass of wine is a must. Wind down at woman-owned Eastwood Winery, open seven days a week.
