- Start off with a bagel sandwich from Bodo's Bagels. This legendary bagel shop has been open since the 1980s.
- Then head to the historic Downtown Mall. This is the epicenter of Charlottesville with blocks of shops, restaurants and local art.
- Don't leave Charlottesville without a tour of Monticello, home of founding father Thomas Jefferson.
- Just down the road is Carter Mountain Orchard, a family-owned property with year-round events, a cider taproom and beautiful views of Charlottesville.
- With over 40 wineries in the area, a glass of wine is a must. Wind down at woman-owned Eastwood Winery, open seven days a week.
